A series of site-specific mixed-media installations, STRAIGHTAWAY is an investigation of materials both natural and manufactured. Each graphic, wall-mounted sculpture blends organic matter and contemporary finishes; focuses on proportion and color; and achieves harmony and balance. Crown adjusts and juxtaposes the mediums in each STRAIGHTAWAY with sensitivity to its surroundings, thereby evoking speed, movement, and gesture.

Materials range from walnut wood to silver leaf, polished aluminum to microspheres. Each piece is striking, with lines of color and texture. As a series, the works are an extension of a modernist legacy that derives  energy from color, and merges new materials with technology.
