Colors swirl, flow, clump together and drift apart in the series KINEMATIC, Crown’s mesmerizing works that explore landscape, surface, texture, materials, time, and geology. 

Crown begins with liquid graphite and water, two materials that, like oil and water, do not mix. Instead, they gracefully mingle, creating dynamic, ephemeral, etherial compositions. Then, the abstract forms are photographed and printed on linen, canvas, aluminum, or polished stainless steel. The result: dazzling works of art that  look like mysterious dreamscapes or, perhaps, images of Earth taken from space.
