It all begins with a mark.
A mark is informed by where we are, what material we hold, and how we exist in the world. Mark making creates an index of experience. Sensory impulse travels through the hand, and art becomes the manifestation of thought.
It’s a powerful expression that has no true end. Instead, it continues to evolve and inform the next gesture, iteration, and interpretation. Paula Crown’s practice is an ongoing investigation of how ideas can exist in many forms, materials, and dimensions. Her process is fluid and always evolving. It holds space for an openness to channel creativity, impact others, and extend the conversation.
When our senses are attuned to our ever-changing environment, we continue to learn, expand, and begin anew. This is the Atelic Way.
